Originally the Eyefinity6 card should’ve been launching in the next 24 hours but it seems like some issues with the software for 6 monitor support caused a delay. Well it seems like a week of date has been set with a exact date being known probably within the week.
To be honest it doesn’t look good with it coming in at the week starting March 29. This would put it right in the middle of GTX 400 series coverage from NVIDIA. We’re not sure how the NVIDIA card is going to perform at the moment but no doubt this is what people are going to be interested in.
On the other hand ATI may have a lot of confidence in their product and want it compared to the GTX 400 series. There’s no denying that we’ve wanted a 2GB version of the HD 5870 from launch day and people making use of multiple monitors are going to enjoy the extra memory that’s going to be available.
Samples should be going out next week though so as always keep an eye out on TT for a review and if anything changes in regards to the NDA I’ll let you know. It’s possible that ATI might decide to push it slightly forward before the Green Team has it’s day.
